  AKITA, A GOOD LUCK CHARM   The Akita Inu, Akita Ken, Japanese Akita or simply Akita, is a dog native to Japan that is estimated to have existed for 3,000 years and is considered a national pride and a good luck charm. The Akita is a large-sized dog, with a very hairy and wide head but is proportionate to the rest of the body. As for its character, it is calm, shy and reserved, they are usually relaxed throughout the day and do not need much physical exercise. Its main characteristic is that it is one of the breeds that shows the most loyalty to its master and is distrustful of strangers, which makes it a great watchdog.

THE NAME HACHIKO

  THE NAME HACHIKO   The name of this genuine and faithful animal was no coincidence. It comes from the word "hachi" which, in Japan, means "eight". Professor Ueno chose to give him this name because of the animal's physical characteristics: Hachiko's front legs were slightly deviated.

"HACHIKO", A TRUE STORY

  "HACHIKO", A TRUE STORY Hachiko was a dog born in 1923 on a farm near the town of Odate, Akita Prefecture. He was picked up by Professor Ueno Hidesaburo, who took him to his home, not far from Shibuya train station. Every morning, while the professor was on his way to work, Hachiko accompanied his master, walking with him to Shibuya train station. The dog would watch as his master disappeared into the train station, Hachiko would then sit in the small square in front of the train station and wait for his master's return.    This became a daily routine for a year, until one day in May 1925 Professor Ueno did not return. Hachiko did not know that his master had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and died. Hachiko teaches us that love, loyalty and friendship can be infinite, and that not only people are capable of feeling, but the animal world is not exempt from it. Animals feel the same emotions as we do, they love, they are happy, they are sad, they mourn losses, they celebrate reunions. What happens is that the way they express their emotions is different, but they feel completely the same as any other person. Let's take care of the animal world and remember that although they cannot speak or reason, they feel pain, they have emotions and their loyalty can be surprising, like that of the hero of this touching movie. THE MOVIE "HACHIKO": ALWAYS BY YOUR SIDE". The story begins in an American elementary school, where the students in the class do an oral exercise about their favorite heroes. When it is Ronnie's turn, he surprises the whole class by proposing Hachiko, his grandfather's dog, as his hero. An Akita puppy is sent by its Japanese breeder to the United States on assignment. But while transporting the dog, the crate falls off the vehicle and lands in a train station. There, a college professor named Parker Wilson (Richard Gere) finds the dog lost and slightly injured. She tries to help him and find a place to leave it.
